The General Election Commission (KPU) accepted Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka on the last day of the registration for the 2024 Presidential Election. This third pair is promoted by the Great Indonesia Movement Party (Partai Gerakan Indonesia Raya or Gerindra Party), the Golkar Party, the National Mandate Party (Partai Amanah Nasional or PAN), and the Demokrat Party as a coalition of parliamentary parties. Previously, the KPU opened the registration for presidential and vice-presidential candidates from October 19 to October 25, 2023, from 08:00 to 16:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB), and on the last day, it was extended until 23:59 WIB.

"For this occasion, we have only one criterion, whether the documents are complete or not. Based on information from the KPU team through Silon, the nomination requirements and candidate qualifications have been declared complete," said Hasyim Asy'ari, the Chairman of the KPU, in his address at the KPU office in Central Jakarta on Wednesday, October 25th."

Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming are scheduled to undergo a health examination at the Gatot Soebroto Army Central Hospital (RSPAD) on Thursday morning, October 26, 2023. This health check is conducted to assess the ability of the candidate pair to carry out their duties as president and vice president if elected."

"So, the entire examination process will be carried out and led by the examination team from the RSPAD Gatot Soebroto," explained Hasyim.

Hasyim hopes that all parties involved in the election are granted strength and patience. He also hopes that all of this can create a fair and democratic election that can contribute to Indonesia.

Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka are a pair promoted by the Advance Indonesian Coalition (Koalisi Indonesia Maju or KIM). In addition to Gerindra, Golkar, PAN, and Demokrat, which are parliamentary parties, KIM also includes non-parliamentary parties such as the Star Crescent Party (Partai Bulan Bintang or PBB), the Indonesian Solidarity Party (Partai Solidaritas Indonesia or PSI), the Indonesian People's Guard Party (Garuda), the Indonesian People's Wave Party (Gelora), and a local party, the Aceh Party. The total number of political parties in the KIM coalition is 12."

Through this, KIM has met the threshold requirement for presidential candidacy by obtaining support from parliamentary parties, totaling 261 seats (45.39%). The breakdown includes Golkar with 85 seats (14.78%), Gerindra with 78 seats (13.57%), Demokrat with 54 seats (9.39%), and PAN with 44 seats (7.65%). Article 222 of Law 7/2017 stipulates that the presidential candidate pair nominated by a political party or a coalition of political parties must either secure at least 20% of the total seats in the DPR or obtain 25% of valid votes nationally in the previous DPR election."
